Sarah Palin’s Level of Intellect Disclosed By Email Analysis
As Sarah Palin received criticism that persistently persistently mocked her own intellect, she released to the public about 24,000 of her emails during her time as Governor of the state of Alaska. A representative from AOL Weird News, an unconventional counterpart of AOL.com, handed over some samples of her writing to analysts in order to determine how effectively Palin wrote. If they expected the outcome to verify the media’s anti-Palin disposition, they were in for a big surprise.
The conventional Flesch-Kincaid readability test indicated that Sarah Palin’s emails were actually written very well, at
around an 8th grade level with a score between 8.2 and 8.5, hardly being an illiterate as to what her critics had previously defined her as, AOL noted that this was in fact “an outstanding score for a leader.” For perspective about this number, Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, more highly edited than what Sarah Palin had in her emails, ranked about 8.8 about the same scale, while Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation came in at 9.1.
Research by Smart Politics on the readability scores of past State of the Union Addresses, also confirmed Palin is well spoken, if she did indeed write the majority of the 24,000 emails released to the public last week. George H.W. Bush
scored an average of 8.6 in his SOA’s while Bill Clinton comes in at 9.5. Ronald Reagan, another GOP member targeted by the liberal media, logged a remarkable 10.3 rating for his State of the Union Addresses, and George W. Bush, who endured 8 years of criticism for his unique ability to make up words on the fly, earned a 10.4 rating on the Flesch-Kincaid scale, just edging out the “Great Communicator” Reagan.
The final comparison comes down to our current President, Barack Obama, known as one of the most proficient
orators in most American’s current history, but his “Yes We Can!” campaign speech came in as ordinary, with an average Flesch-Kincaid rating of 7.4.
Palin’s emails are called “concise” “direct”, and “fine, clear writing”, even by members of the Democratic Party. Writing primarily on her Blackberry, she shortens words to save time and space, and according to an Alaskan English Professor, there are very few “Alaskanisms” present in her writing.

There’s a lot of misunderstanding about Flesch Kincaid scores. A high Flesch Kincaid score does not mean you’re smart or well educated. If anything, it means the opposite. In fact, clearly written prose net a low score. For example, Hemingway’s Son Also Rises packs some of the most powerful prose ever written and has a Flesch Kincaid score of 5.
Obama isn’t stupid, he has to use simple words in his speeches so the people who vote for him will understand.
And Sarah has an 8th grade mentality to match it. In her emails she complains about Jewish Republican Rep. by vulgarly calling him names like “Vajayjay” and “Jay Bird-Nose Ramras”, and then goes on with her usual derogatory sexual undertone to suggest to keep her teenage daughters “away from the likes of Jay”. How many times has Sarah insinuated that someone who criticizes or just doesn’t like her is yet another sexual predator? This woman who thinks she should be the most powerful person in the world with her crude, hostile, bilous, anti-semitic mean girl language has some serious mental problems and needs a full psychological evaluation.

Sorry kids but the fact is that there are not enough voters under the age of 35 to really do much without the much larger group of boomers who decide most elections.
