Santorum Slams Biden Over Tea Party Terrorist Remarks
Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has come out hard against Vice President Joe Biden’s comments Sunday describing the Tea Party as “terrorists” against the debt ceiling debate. Santorum has been conducting a tour of southern Iowa over the last few days, working his “small town strategy” as it is described by The Iowa Republican, an Iowa media publication.
Santorum posted Monday evening on his social media sites two comments which reflected his disgust and annoyance with Biden’s remarks.
“Leaving a packed Townhall [i]n Clinton. Saw Biden’s comment on Tea Party. No surprise he hasn’t been right [a]bout terrorism in yrs.”
“Seriously Joe – this is beneath you and your office. Apologize and mean it.”
Biden has denied “using the terrorism word” to CBS News, and reports from Politico say that the phrase may have been initiated by Republican Pennsylvania Representative Mike Doyle.
Vice President Biden may also have been the source for another series of controversial comments, this time centered on President Obama and the possibility of his invoking the 14th Amendment if a debt deal was not reach by the August 2nd deadline. According to Democratic Oregon Representative Peter DeFazio, Biden expressed the President’s willingness to use such a measure to members of his own party during the debt ceiling negotiations, a move which some have said may have been considered unConstitutional.
Santorum is right, it was a dumb thing to say – and Rick Santorum is fair, as he is also knocking Perry for saying a dumb thing. Santorum may be the best of the lot!
Biden reminds me of the old saying “think before you speak”. He has an amazing ability to say things that he just shouldn’t say, and then act cool about it afterwards. If america wants “change”, lets show it in the voting booth.
