Huntsman Supports Tuition for Children of Illegal Immigrants
While Jon Huntsman is in support of securing the nation’s borders against illegal immigrants, he also stresses that those crossing the border are human beings and deserve to be handled humanely. He is also in support of providing in-state college tuition support to children with alien parents, which is only part of the immigration issue he agrees wholly with another GOP presidential hopeful, Rick Perry.
“I don’t want to punish young kids for the sins of their parents,” said Huntsman, during an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer recently.
In the interview he further explains that he wants to fix the system by which the United States grants citizenship to foreigners, assuming they are not criminals. He attests the system has been broken for years and is creating a bi-furcated society, where nearly 12 million aliens are living in the “shadows.”
His solution to helping these people is to pragmatically fix the citizenship process through back-taxes, requiring English as the primary language learned and apply and fees or penalties to those wishing to stay in the United States.

Texas Governor Rick Perry obviously doesn’t realize that any benefits for illegal aliens, whether it’s the $100.000 tuition fee in the University of Texas or any number public assistance programs is just a tremendous draw to foreign persons, from across borders or a visitor’s visa ticket from anywhere abroad. In a survey by (CIS) Center for Immigration Studies, 40 percent of Texas jobs are jobs taken by illegal aliens in the Lone Star State. Anything that is free is going to entice people, especially when their own country is corrupt or have no interest in gaining support from its people. What is seriously unconstitutional is giving advantages to illegal children over the rights of citizen children, who must pay full tuition as out of state students. In yesterday’s melee, this became a highlighted issue of extraordinary importance to the audience. In a partnership with YouTube and Fox News featured the Republican Presidential Primary candidates in a debate answering questions from the online community.
Perry was confronted by boos, and hecklers who gave no-quarter to this seemingly special preference to the children of illegal aliens. Senator McCain in 2007 felt the brunt of this condemnation, for the passage of a “Path to Citizenship” and equally abhorrent his pursuance of another mass amnesty. This immediately wrecked his chance of the Presidency, as his campaign money machine ground to a halt through this irrational agenda. Make no mistake that large majorities of the Hispanic people are not going to fall in this political trap, as hundreds of thousands do not believe in pandering to the illegal immigrant onslaught. Like all Americans their jobs are in jeopardy as well, as it is for Latino’s, Blacks, Whites, Asians and others who qualify as lawful residents. The TEA PARTY doesn’t condone any type of official pardon, for those who stole into our country. Voicing her opinion, Bachmann said: “We will not have taxpayer-subsidized benefits for illegal immigrants or their children.” She pledged to build a fence along the U.S.-Mexican border, a shift that Perry opposes. In the latest report surveyed by (FAIR) Federation of American Immigration Reform, Texas is subsidizing illegal aliens with 4.7 billion annually in contributions from its taxpayers.
These payments cover education, medical care and incarceration that are just one state forced by the federal courts in unfunded mandates. Fair states, “State and local taxes paid by the unauthorized immigrant population go toward offsetting these costs, but they do not come near to matching the expenses. The total of such payments can generously be estimated at slightly less than $1 billion per year.” In addition Fair acknowledged, “The fiscal costs of illegal immigration do not end with these three major cost areas. The total costs of illegal immigration to the state’s taxpayers would be considerably higher if other cost areas such as special English instruction, welfare programs used by the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens, or welfare benefits for American workers displaced by illegal alien workers were also calculated.
All 50 states are burdened by illegal immigrant costs, but in ratio the Sanctuary State of California beats them all, with a rising entitlement program of $9 Billion. Californians should not be expected to presume this already large and growing encumber from illegal immigration simply since businesses or other special interests benefit from being able to employ lower cost workers. In all the Heritage Foundation has analyzed a cost projection of every state, with an inclusion of federal funding–but not limited to $113 Billion dollars a year. All this money taken from the American taxpayers pay check. Even more astounding is the US government allowing illegal workers, to send an average of $46 billion dollars out of the country, to foreign banks?
Rick Perry may have cooked his own goose, for as a Governor of a state he should be protecting his citizens and legal populace. Giving out taxpayer dollars to foreigner’s children is not just a Texas issue. There is no doubt in the TEA PARTY ticket, illegal immigration is going to take center stage, next to jobs and our wilting economy. Rep. Lamar smith is correct, when he impressed on the issue of his mandatory E-Verify proposal in Congress, this an imminent in vote right now, “That the only people losing their jobs–will be illegal aliens.” Of course the usual radical voices are raised, as critics opposing this Historical Immigration Bill, H.R. 2885 are searching for any loophole to drag it down. They are using what inflammatory rhetoric or lies they can muster against the passage of E-Verify “the Legal Workforce Act.” First they contest it that legal American workers could be turned away in being hired. So that person just addresses that grievance by going to their local Social security office; illegal aliens will stay well clear of this agency. None of the media will inform their readership of this?
Following through with this is an expensive proposition for small businesses, when it’s a simple computer generated program and cost nothing to operate. The usual suspects are behind this bombardment of hoping to terrorize the people with this verbal garbage. Adverse entities such as Tea Party Nation or Tea Party Express have limited influence on the millions of in the Tea Party members, who want to see our 1986 Immigration laws severely enforced. They also want the instant citizenship law amended, so billions of dollars are not going to parents of these babies snuck into the United States, so they can get free hospital care, free housing, free food stamps and cash payments for every child. The misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment, has given 300.000 children at an annual rate for illegal parents, free access to the American people’s welfare safety-net.
The people who vote in 2012 have probably the hardest selection in choosing a new president. Obama’s immigration enforcement was on the right track, until he began issuing executive orders and not complying with the “Rule of Law.” After all Liberal oriented presidents think they are not subject to the US Constitution. The job of his administration is to deport–ALL–illegal aliens, not select who can stay, because they hadn’t committed a crime. The next man/women in the White House must follow the law, which has been manipulated successfully by the public servants in the Dept of Justice. They should not be intimidated by the Church, unions, business, giant agricultural corporation, farmers or the open border groups. Instead of trying to undermine financially hurting states from converging crowds of illegal immigrants, they should be enforcing the laws in the border regions, where states like Arizona, California, Texas and New Mexico are in constant conflict with drug cartels and the tracks of foreigners moving Northwards in to America.
Who amongst presidential contenders will really fit the bill, to beat Obama later next year? Businessman Herman Cain, a true partier who has a great plans and addressing the crippling Tax code, we have now and so does Bachmann? Being that illegal immigration has become an oppressive financial problem, finding the best candidate with an antidote is not for former for Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul as they have little to say about this controversial battle that is unceasing.

Children brought here illegally have 6 months after their 18th birthday (adults) to return home and come back legally. They are moved to the front of the line for student visas and residency.
If they don’t, they break the law as adults and are just as illegal as their parents.
I am the daughter of an illegal citizen and i was brought to this country at the age of 2, i am now 18 years old. Unfortunatley like so many illegal teens my age i wasnt informed of that i would be breaking a law very soon. Should i still be held responsible for the bad judgement of my parents? I dont know anyone from my parents home country . This is the only home i know and your saying i need to leave and go back to a place i know little to nothing about???Its not an issue of going to our home country and coming back legally most times that process through the American gov would take years. A problem in our society is never addressed until its brought to the attention of others. Thats why i am so glad this is being talked about more and more in the media.I cant wrk, drive or get things like financial aid or scholorships.. the only college i can afford are community colleges .
Although I feel for your situation, as a single parent with a son who was born here, I am inundated with illegals who have taken over my neighborhood and schools. My son goes to a high school that I pay for through taxes and is considered a minority. The fact is your here illegally as well as your parents. You and your family have live off the backs of the American taxpayer for several years and quite frankly Im so DONE! Illegals use every single service we have and pay nothing back. Sympathy on my part has run out. When my son cannot even have a safe place to live from a parent who has been paying taxes for 30 years, then I will step up and fight to remove illegals. Agreed, the question is not “Should we punish the children for the sins of the parents’, the question is “Should we reward the children for the sins of the parents?” The answer to the latter is a resounding “NO”.
It’s disgusting how all these people claim to be for securing the border against illegal immigration, but don’t support any adverse consequences for those who violate our borders. I have thought long and hard about this and can not see how that position differs from being for open-borders.
So, I am forced to believe that Huntsman, and all his ilk, all those who think as he does about the problem of undocumented illegals, are lying about being for secure borders. That is, they are all open-borders wingnuts. I doubt that they even believe in US sovereignty.

The American worker, families and communities face a common problem today. It’s estimated between 13 and 20 million plus currently has settled and work in our nation unlawfully. The majorities are–ECONOMIC–and don’t pay local, state, Federal taxes and yet demand privileges meant for US citizens and legal residents, placing a massive yoke around government welfare and bleed this recessions sources of revenue. American’s can no longer pay to subsidize the illegal immigrants, with the taxpayer’s $113 Billion dollars and-up annually. These illegal offenders, who come here, leave no paper trail of foreign criminal convictions. Most have families, many legal that hide their relations in plain sight. They bring their children or birth them here attending public schools by law, adding to overcrowded classrooms and diverting scarce education money. Time is not on America’s side, as the borders remain porous and hundreds of miles of ancient barbed wire fences, open lake areas, rivers–which the US Agents thinly roam trying to courageously stop drug cartels, criminal cargo and the endless tracks of foreign nationals.
I don’t think any American is opposed to legal immigration, As all of us, one time or the other came across the Atlantic or crossed borders. But illegal immigrant invaders are something entirely wrong, that treads on our “rule of law” and the prime directives of the U.S. Constitution. America is a nation of laws, which we abide by. Illegal aliens want all the rights of the legal population, but scorn our laws and then have the audacity to demonstrate in our streets. This is just not right, with most ignoring our people’s common bond to respect our laws. They do neither! Unlike the 19th century immigrants they come here expecting to be monetary taken care of, wish not to learn our language or to assimilate into American society.
However, the open border tyranny has a different agenda. The Obama government has used executive directives, making it possible for illegal aliens to settle in this nation. Last month President Obama issued an executive order to bypass the Congress, establishing new ICE priorities relating to deportations. This event has led an easier path for illegal nationals to remain in this country, being able to apply for a work permit. Even though the American public and refusal of Congress to approve of any new amnesty, the administration has created a back door entry for these people.
Many honest lawmakers signed a letter to President Obama and executive members of the staff, protesting this action. In other words this Administration has stonewalled the Congress, which is the only avenue that an amnesty may be passed into law.
A mandatory E-Verify vote is coming up for a vote this week and every American is frustrated and irate about Obama’s executive order should contact his representative in Washington insisting they pass Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas “The Legal Workforce Act” (H.R. 2885). This is about saving jobs for working Americans, being stolen by illegal alien labor.
In her opening statement on yesterday, Rep. Linda Sanchez described E-Verify as broken.
“The system is riddled with errors and doesn’t work. It doesn’t flag the workers it’s supposed to flag, and it snags too many citizens and legal workers in its net. The job market is tough enough. It makes no sense for Congress to pass a law that makes it more difficult for legal workers to find work.”
Why are the pro-amnesty groups so scared of Chairman Smith’s bill? Because they know it would take away any leverage they have for passing a mass amnesty, and more importantly, it would successfully remove illegal aliens from the workforce.
Further there is the HALT Act (Hinder the Administration’s Legalization Temptation) bill. This bill would prevent USCIS (United States Customs and Immigration Services) and ICE from granting parole for illegal aliens who are convicted of a crime and other actions, including reversing the administration’s recent executive directive authorizing the cancellation of the removal of illegal aliens from our country. The simple explanation of the “HALT” act is to stop the present government from circumventing the Congress on deportation and other immigration laws, so ICE can carry out their duties.
If the people of America wish to change the 1986 Immigration Control and Reform Act, so be it–with their votes. But the laws were regulated to place detainers on illegal aliens and then deport them, for violating the United States laws. Only President Obama has ignored Congress and changed our laws by fiat. Showing complete indifference to our laws and living inside state borders, has gone too far. Even worse are the oaths our president, his men and women sworn to protect us from enemies domestic and foreign have chosen to ignore the American people’s voices.
Before Obama and back three decades, the US government has overreached their empowerment, as we have witnessed in courts as activist judges have followed their own agendas. Immigration is no longer a lesser of issues, as it has influenced both the jobs of thousands of US workers and this economy. The “HALT” act, E-Verify, 287 G and “Secure Communities” are the sane way, for the illegal aliens to begin an exodus from this country. Another sure system is for the government to issue every American with an official ID. These policing laws would eventually make it near impossible, for illegal aliens to stay here, without fear of detection.
As Americans you should expect nothing more or less, from any politician. If the Liberals, Democrats or even the Republicans will not enforce Immigration laws, it’s for sure TEA PARTY leaders will.
